About these terms
WritersStudio is a free desktop application provided by Alisa Petrova. These terms describe the licence for the application and the conditions of the public beta. Contact: support@writersstudio.app.
Your licence
You may install and use WritersStudio for personal or commercial writing, without a subscription or trial deadline. The application is proprietary. This licence does not transfer ownership of its code, name, or branding. Do not redistribute modified copies as official WritersStudio releases or remove licence notices. Rights granted by applicable law and by the licences of third-party components are preserved.
Your writing belongs to you
You keep all rights to your manuscripts, notes, images, and other project content. Using WritersStudio does not give its developer a licence to publish, sell, or train AI on your content. You are responsible for having the rights to material you add to a project.
Local files and backups
Projects are stored in folders you choose. Local editing does not require an account or internet access. Autosave and project History help you manage changes, but both depend on your local files. Keep a separate backup of important work. Uninstalling the application does not delete your project folders. Cloud sync and remote project backups are not part of this release.
Public beta and updates
Version 2.3.0 is an unsigned Windows x64 public beta. Windows may show an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen warning. Download installers only from the official WritersStudio website or release repository. A checksum checks file integrity; it does not provide a digital signature.
The application checks the official GitHub release feed for newer ordinary and beta versions. It can notify you and open the official releases page, but it does not download or install updates automatically. You choose whether to install a newer version. Release notes describe changes and any compatibility limits.
Optional analytics
Usage analytics is off until you choose to enable it. Refusing or later disabling it does not limit local writing features. The Privacy Policy explains the data, retention periods, update checks, and controls for disabling analytics or requesting deletion. Agreeing to these Terms alone does not enable analytics.
Support and availability
You can report problems to support@writersstudio.app. Do not include private manuscripts unless you deliberately choose to share them for a support request. There is no guaranteed response time, release schedule, or service-level agreement for the free beta. Future optional services may have separate terms; they are not required for local writing.
Warranty and responsibility
The beta may contain defects or change as development continues. To the extent permitted by applicable law, it is provided as available, without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every workflow. Keep independent backups and review exported files before relying on them.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including fraud or other mandatory consumer protections. Any limitation applies only to the extent allowed by the law that protects you.
Third-party components
WritersStudio includes third-party software, fonts, and other assets under their own licences. Their notices are included with the application. The corresponding source for the bundled Git distribution and covered components is provided with the release. Those licences continue to grant their own rights.
Changes and ending use
You can stop using WritersStudio and uninstall it at any time. Your project files remain yours. If you enabled analytics, use the in-app deletion control before removing local application data if you want the application to authenticate a deletion request.
New versions of these Terms will have their own date and permanent link. Material changes will be presented with the affected release. Changes do not remove rights that applicable law gives you or retroactively grant rights over your writing.
